Qwoter SMS & Mobile Marketing Campaigns
"The mobile phone is the first truly personal medium -- always held, always on -- and it opens up many new opportunities for marketers. Done correctly and responsibly, mobile marketing can drive a high level of response and consumer action while building brand recognition, loyalty and sales in a cost-effective manner."
– iMedia Connection, April 2004
"Advertisers are craving new, creative channels and mobile marketing is emerging as the next greatopportunity."
- Burgess, Mobile Marketing Association
"Teens and young adults view mobile content as an integral part of their lifestyles and frequently update and personalize their mobile phones. By providing them with Herbal Essences branded content, we are strengthening the bond we have with our target consumers."
- Mimi McGrath, interactive marketing manager, Herbal Essences at Procter & Gamble
Mobile Marketing
Traditionally, advertising mediums such as television and radio allow a huge percentage of their cost and efforts to wastage. These advertisers experience a response rate of about 1% because their efforts are dispersed to a huge audience who are typically not interested in the product or service. Mobile Marketing eliminates the unnecessary costs associated with wastage by combining predictive models and dynamic profiling to specifically target the audience. Response rates average about 15%. |
Mobile Marketing is effective
- an average SMS campaign generates a 15% response rate
- 94% of all advertising SMS messages are read
- 23% Are forwarded or shown to other users
- 8% reply to the message
- 6% visit a website mentioned in the message
The United States remains an untapped market for mobile advertising. Mobile phone users are already receiving SMS advertisements in other regions of the world. As reported by eMarketer; 39% of mobile phone users in Asia have received SMS messages from advertisers. In Europe, the number is not far behind at 36% of all mobile subscribers. The United States follows at only 8%, a number that is good news for advertisers who want to get ahead in the U.S. market. The Mobile Marketing Association reports there are 165 million mobile consumers sending about 2.5 billion SMS messages each month. The U.S. is the second-largest single pool of cell phone users in the world (after China).

Recent Mobile Marketing campaigns:
- Pepsi ran an “SMS Live Concert Promotion” where viewers had to send an SMS with their name and a unique keyword to enter a draw to win tickets to the Melbourne or Sydney Rumba festival.
- In the middle of October 2004, Unilever, the manufacturer of Dove brand soap, launched the first interactive billboard in New York's Times Square. The billboard flashed women's faces and asked people "What is beautiful?" while cell phone users cast their votes via text message. A running tally appeared in real-time on the billboard.
- In Spring 2004, Fox's "American Idol" teamed up with AT&T allowing viewers to vote for their favorite singer via text-messaging. The campaign generated 7.5 million text messages during the show's season.

Mobile Marketing Is Unique
Mobile Marketing enables a marketer to personalize their campaign to a unique and specific audience. It is the only channel that enables spontaneous, direct, interactive and/ or targeted communications any time, any place. Cell phones and PDAs are unique in that they are one of the only personal items that a consumer carries with them at all times and is always on. This fact empowers the marketer in a way that has never before been available.

Qwoter Advertising Campaigns
Video Advertising
Qwoter video advertising allows you to personalize your message. Users initiate personalization through choosing content that they are interested in and signing up to receive specific news announcements. Qwoter can then develop advertising content that appeals to that audience and makes your personalized ad campaign much more effective.
“Users may not realize that we’re personalizing the content, but it’s financially rewarding for the company’s revenue stream,” says Ed Davis, ESPN Motion’s director and general manager. “Our site’s impressions will increase because we’re sending inventory to customers that they are far more likely to interact with and appreciate.”
Broad band video is a groundbreaking new way to advertise. It is similar to TV in that it offers reach and emotion, but broadband video goes beyond traditional television by offering powerful interactivity. iMedia reported in May 2004, “All forms of Web-based video advertising, such as streaming, embedded, viral video distribution, desktop push and long-form video, are murdering the traditional 30-second spot and demanding that “time-spent” become the new ad measurement.”
Maven Networks developed video advertisements for the 20th Century Fox film, “Master and Commander.” Multiple videos produced all containing different content effectively generated kept viewers lingering on the site for an average of 15- 20 minutes each.
