Geo Minerals Ltd. is engaged in evaluating, acquiring, exploring and, if warranted, developing mineral and energy resource properties in North America. In March 2009, the Company and Alix Resources Corp. (Alix) announced that they had acquired an 80% interest in the Hudson Bay property from NuCoal. The property is comprised of just over 11,000 acres of coal prospecting permits. Additionally, the Company and Alix announced the joint acquisition of an 80% interest in seven prospective coal projects located in Saskatchewan from NuCoal. The properties represent 727 permits totaling approximately 1,395,840 acres of land. In August 2009, the Company acquired two additional mineral interests. In July 2009, the Company announced the formation of Juturna Geothermal Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, to act as a holding company for a suite of geothermal assets/prospects the Company intends to buy.
