Wal-Mart de México, S.A.B. de C.V. (WALMEX) is Mexican retail chain operator. The Company operates 1,472 units, which includes self-service stores, warehouse membership clubs, apparel stores, and restaurants, as well as 190 bank branches to serve customers and members. It operates in three segments: Self-service, which includes the operation of discount stores, hypermarkets, membership self-service wholesale stores and supermarkets; Financial services, which includes the operation of bank branches to provide banking and credit services, and Other, which consists of department stores, restaurants and the real estate transactions with third parties. In February 2010, the Company acquired Walmart Centroamerica. The principal shareholder of WALMEX is Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., through Intersalt, S. de R.L. de C.V.
