Stocks up 1 percent on techs

U.S. stocks rose on Wednesday, sending major indexes up more than 1 percent, as technology shares rebounded, while upbeat outlooks and profit reports from companies including Big Lots Inc. (NYSE:BIG) tempered worries about the economy's health.

The Dow Jones industrial average was up 131.36 points, or 1.01 percent, at 13,173.21. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 14.81 points, or 1.03 percent, at 1,447.17. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 30.57 points, or 1.22 percent, at 2,531.21.
